Getting Started
How do I install Roamly?
Open the Chrome Web Store, search for "Roamly VPN," and click "Add to Chrome." After install, the cyan lightning-bolt icon appears in your toolbar. Click it to open the popup.
How do I create an account?
Click the extension icon, then "Sign Up." Enter email + password. We'll send a verification link, click it to activate. Without verification you can use the free 5-min/day plan but cannot purchase.
I didn't get the verification email.
Check spam first. If still missing after 5 minutes, click "Resend" inside the popup, or email [email protected]. Sometimes mail providers (especially corporate Outlook) silently block first-time senders.
How do I connect?
Open the popup, pick a server (or leave on auto), click the big circular button. Within 1–2 seconds you'll see "Connected" and the timer starts. Free users get 5 minutes per day; the timer pauses when you disconnect.
Free Plan
What does the free plan include?
5 minutes of VPN time per day. Multiple server locations. Standard speed (often >50 Mbps). No card needed. No auto-trial trick.
Why only 5 minutes?
Bandwidth costs money. We give you enough to try the product or to do that one thing you needed a VPN for. If you need more, go Premium: unlimited time, all locations, and max-speed servers, with a 7-day free trial.
When does the timer reset?
00:00 UTC every day. You can connect/disconnect freely within the 5 minutes, the timer only counts active connection time.
Billing & Payment
What payment methods are accepted?
Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) in USD, processed securely by Polar, our Merchant of Record. Premium is a yearly subscription that starts with a 7-day free trial.
How does billing work?
Premium is a yearly subscription that starts with a 7-day free trial. You are not charged during the trial. After it, the plan renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your dashboard and keep full access until the end of your paid period.
How do I get a refund?
Email [email protected] with your transaction ID within 14 days of purchase for a full refund. During the 7-day free trial you are not charged, so cancelling then costs nothing.
Where's my receipt?
Sent to your account email immediately after payment confirms. If you can't find it, log into the dashboard at roamlyvpn.com, all past payments are listed under "Payments."
Connectivity & Performance
The VPN is slow today.
Try switching servers. Same-country servers are usually fastest; cross-continent (e.g. you in Europe → Singapore) will always be slower. Some destinations rate-limit VPN IPs, that's not our doing.
A site says I can't access this from a VPN.
Streaming services and banks often block known VPN IPs. We rotate IPs, but the cat-and-mouse game means some sites won't work consistently. Banking specifically, don't use a VPN; you'll lock yourself out.
How do I disable the VPN for one site?
The Per-Tab Mode setting (gear icon → Advanced) lets you choose which tabs route through the VPN. Disable it for your bank tab, enable for streaming.
Does Roamly work on mobile?
Right now Roamly is desktop Chrome only (also works on Edge, Brave, Vivaldi, Arc). iOS and Android apps are on the roadmap for late 2026.
Privacy & Logs
Do you log my browsing activity?
Only at the domain (hostname) level, and only at the server side, not from the extension. The VPN exit servers see which domains you connect to (e.g. example.com), connection times, and bandwidth. They do NOT see paths (/article/123), page contents, form data, or downloads.
The Roamly browser extension itself does NOT inspect or report your browsing. It uses Chrome's built-in declarativeNetRequest filtering API, which means Chrome handles the matching internally, the extension never gets to see what URLs you visit.
For full details, see the Privacy Policy.
Can you see what I do on HTTPS sites?
No. Once you're on an HTTPS site, the connection is end-to-end encrypted between your browser and the destination server. We see only the domain you connect to (via SNI on the server side), never page contents, messages, form data, or downloads.
Why are some sites (banks, e-government, exchanges) blocked when VPN is on?
By design. Roamly intentionally blocks Turkish bank websites, the e-Devlet portal, GİB, SGK, and major crypto exchanges when the VPN is connected. Reasons:
- Account safety: banks and exchanges often lock accounts that log in via VPN, treating it as suspicious.
- KYC compliance: exchanges require your real location for regulatory reasons; VPN access can violate their terms.
- Fraud prevention: preventing unauthorized account access through anonymizing layers.
Just turn off the VPN to access these sites. The extension popup has a one-click disconnect button. After your banking/government task, reconnect the VPN.
What does "no third-party trackers" mean?
The extension and our website do not load Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, Hotjar, or any other surveillance/tracking SDK. We use first-party logging only, meaning if data is collected, it goes to our servers and stays there.
What happens if law enforcement asks for my data?
We comply with valid legal process from courts of competent jurisdiction. We push back on requests we believe are overbroad. Annual transparency reports starting Year 2.
Account
How do I change my password?
Log into the dashboard at roamlyvpn.com → Profile → Change Password. Or use "Forgot Password" from the login screen for an email reset link.
How do I delete my account?
Dashboard → Profile → "Delete Account" at the bottom. This is permanent. Data is kept for 30 days for backup rotation, then erased (except payment records which we must keep for accounting).
I lost access to my email, can I recover my account?
Email [email protected] from any address along with your last transaction ID. We'll verify and help. No guarantee, security comes first.
Still need help?
Email [email protected]. Real human, English or Turkish, usually under 48 hours.
